I have a philosophy. the key to succesful endurance training must start in the mind. You need the right mindset to achieve your goals. These goals in the initial stages in the grand scheme of things may seem insignificant in comaprison to what others achieve. But remeber, they are your targets and no one elses.
Have the vision
Start with an idea, a challenge. This should be something that takes you out of your comfort zone, it should be challenging but it should also be achievable. It can be a race, a project, an expedition; it is your choice! A vision will make the journey a passion, it keeps you focussed, it keeps you honest and it will provide lear objectives. This vision provides us with a timescale on which we create a training platform to make that vision a reality.
Putting it into practice
Simple, the more you do, the better you get. With a well structured training plan we will construct a strategy that gradually builds over a time period making you aware how to hone your skills and fitness in allowing the vision to become an achievable objective. With discipline, patience and understanding we will achieve your goals.
Being inspired
We all need inspiration. This can be a beautiful sunrise, a fantastic landscape, a friend, a superb performane, a blog post or just me providing the impetus to help you perform better. We all need inspiration.
Holding it all together
The perfect training plan is balanced. It takes into consideration your time, your commitments, your work, your family and all other factors that affect your life. One common thread that I find is that my coaching clients find it very hard to be objective about the time that they train or don't train. Often they feel guilty. They take a rest and they think it is bad. They eat chocolate, they think it is best. I remove these worries and provide the balance.
Telephone call
Before getting started, log on to the website. This will provide you access to my 'client area' and allow you the facility to book a 30 min telephone consulation. Here we carry out an in-depth discussion on your sporting background, your achievements, your goals and what you want to achieve. The more input you prvide, the more effective the plan. I will also send you a very detailed Q&A doc and PARQ form so that we can ensure that we have all your history and doctors approval before undertaking endurance training.
Training plan
Your training plan is provided weekly or bi weekly in excel spreadsheets or PDF form if you do not have access to some 'word' applications. Your plan is bespoke and customized to your objectives. It takes into consideration your available time and is amended on an ongoing basis. Even daily if required. Your plan is provided through the client are of the website on your own specific page. You will be able to download your plan and other information through free softwaresuch as SperOak or Dropbox.
Plan calls
Each week you are entitled to a plan call that can last up to 30 minutes. here we discuss progression, objectives and future targets. Calls are booked via the online calendar in the client area of this website.
Communication
You have unlimited email and sms messaging to ask any questions as you move through your training.
Planning
We constantly monitor and revise your schedule planning races as preparation to your key goal. If required, we may even review your whole plan to accomodate unforseen changes.
Add ons
We are involved in many races, training camps and have a very large network of contacts within the sporting indusrty. Where possible, we will provide discounts and the possibility to book in advance on many events that we are involved in.
